The Innovation Station
The Innovation Station, a makerspace located on the main level of the Library, offers technologies for exploration, creation, learning, and invention.
All equipment is available to Loyola University Maryland and Notre Dame of Maryland University students, faculty, and staff.
Prerequisites:
- accept and comply to the Makerspace Policies and Guidelines (pdf)
- agree to the terms and conditions as outlined in the Maker Information and Agreement Form
Submitting a print request, makerspace technology reservation, or Maker Information and Agreement Form qualifies as your expressed agreement to the policies and terms and conditions as outlined in the Makerspace Information and Agreement Form.
You should:
- complete the Maker Information and Agreement Form
- complete training and certification for restricted equipment
- complete the Large Format Print Request to poster print
You may:
- schedule an appointment for a tour of the makerspace or take a virtual tour
- reserve equipment a minimum of 12 hours in advance
- request library-staff led Innovation Station Makerspace Technology Instruction for classes
- complete the Assisted 3-D Print Request to print class sanctioned 3D objects
- Attend a hands-on-technology pop-up class

The Innovation Station features:
3D Printing
Build three dimensional objects using PLA filament
3D Scanning
Scan 3D objects to create models for editing, merging into projects or 3D printing.
Audio Production and Recording
Explore every aspect of audio and music creation including recording, arranging, mixing,
and more.
Button Making
Create pinback buttons.
Laminating
Preserve documents up to 8.5" x 11".
Large Format Printing
Print high quality photographic and graphic design posters.
Laser Cutting and Engraving
Cut and etch organic material with a CO2 Laser
Programming and Circuitry
Explore and create with Arduino, Raspberry Pi, Adafruit Circuit Playground Express
and LEGO Mindstorm.
Sewing and Embroidering
Mend, sew, or embellish fabrics.
Smart Cutting: Cricut Maker
Cut, score, engrave, etch, deboss, and draw on a wide array of materials.
Still and Video Photography
Take photos or record a video.
Virtual Reality
Explore VR using HTC Vive, Google Cardboard, Meta Quest, and the YI 360 VR camera.
